Job Description

The successful applicant would be responsible for making contact with the client's on-site and therefore first impressions and a professional approach is important.

You will be reporting directly to the operations manager who will provide full training and support.

Requirements:

  • A good level of physical fitness as role requires a mixture of lifting, standing for extended periods, bending and squatting.

Your Experience would include:

  • MIG (Gas / Gasless) and ARC welding.
  • Stainless and Aluminum TIG welding would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to get welding certifications as required.
  • Workshop machinery (drill press, lathe, band saw, plasma cutter, etc).
  • Able to use sheet metal equipment (press, guillotine, rollers, and folders).
  • Must be able to read engineering/CAD drawings.
  • Trade qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Current Clean Full Drivers License, class 2 License would be an advantage.
  • Able to drive manual vehicles.

You will be provided with:

  • Great Hourly Payrate with overtime rates available.
  • Uniform.
  • NZQA training provided for skills required on the job.
  • Ongoing training and support.
  • Time off over Christmas.
  • Support from owners and manager.

You must have the following.

  • A minimum of 3 Years or more of welding and fabrication experience.
  • Drug-free. You will need to undergo a pre-employment drug test.
  • Have a current and valid Full driver's license.
  • Clean criminal record as a MOJ check may be carried out on those short-listed.

We are looking for someone that in time can lead the engineering staff and "hit the ground running" within the first couple of months.

Hours for this position will be Monday to Friday with start and finish times discussed at the interview stage.

The pay rate will depend on experience.
