We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Export Officer to join our prestigious client with its office based in Takanini. This is an extremely critical and integral part of the export department and a fantastic opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge or a change in their career.

Your new role

The Export Officer is responsible for the efficient day to day running of the Export department. Reporting to the Environmental Service manager, this role is to support the Export and Trading department.

• Day to day running of the Export department in a smooth, cost effective way
• General Knowledge of Scrap metal industry/ Freight & transport
• Obtaining best possible freight rates. All rates kept up to date
• All environmental protection authority
• Mitigating Container Damages
• Work with the Trading Manager to ensure that all sales are processed timely and to contract
• Rail and Coastal movements are analysed prior to booking to ensure inter company stocks are moved in the most cost-efficient way.
• Processing imports in a timely manor
• All Imports are processed in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary charges
• Strict control is kept over outstanding debtors.
• Liaise closely with Branch Managers, Trading and Compliance managers ensuring safe and professional operation

What you'll need to succeed

• Having a Customs Pin
• Excel experience - intermediate user
• Microsoft office suite
• Ability to identify workable solutions to difficult / complex issues
• High level of self-motivation
• Excellent interpersonal capabilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ideally from the transport, Logistics or shipping industry
• Must be a resident or citizen currently living in New Zealand
