Our lovely Matamata team is looking for an experienced Line Mechanic to join them and work on the construction and maintenance of our client's systems. You can be based anywhere in the 'valley region' or even Tauranga as the travel to Matamata won't take you longer than 30 minutes on a usual day.

The roleReporting to the Supervisor, your safety and that of others around you is your number one priority in this role. The work is varied and you'll take part in the key construction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines to our customer and network requirements. You'll also:

• Assist with work plans and ensure that relevant field paperwork is completed as necessary
• Laying underground cables and replacing cross-arms
• Pulling up new line builds for subdivisions requested by our clients.

About youYou'll be working on a variety of exciting projects and will require you to travel across the Matamata region along with working on different shifts. To be successful in this role, it is essential to have the following:

• NZ Distribution Line Mechanic qualification (required to work on the Powerco Network) with a current NZ EWRB Practicing licence
• At least two years' solid experience under your belt with experience in fault work
• A valid Class 2 driver's licence
• A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with a strong focus to health & safety
• Ability to communicate and work under minimum supervision
