Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cook to work at our Senior Living site, Selwyn Village in Point Chevalier, Auckland. Hours of work are permanent full-time, Saturday and Sunday 07:00 to 13:30 and Monday to Wednesday 09:15 - 17:15 with Thursday and Friday as days off.

Ko o kawenga/Your responsibilities:

  • Preparing, cooking and serving quality English-style meals and snacks according to dietitian specifications;
  • Ensuring the quality of every dish we serve!
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen
  • Follow the site food safety and health and safety plans.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assisting in general kitchen and cleaning duties.

  • be hard working, trustworthy, with a friendly outgoing personality with a 'can do' attitude.
  • ideally you will already have experience in cooking and baking and experience in a cross section of the industry.
  • hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be happy to train for one.
  • be able to communicate fluently in English and have good English cuisine cooking skills.
  • have superior customer service skills but, most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.

  • will be in New Zealand already, a New Zealand citizen or resident or be in position of a valid NZ work visa.
  • will need to Pass a Pre-employment Background Check.
  • will need to provide evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination status.
