We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Executive Chef for our Catering operation at the army base in Ohakea located in the Manawatu Region. This role is Permanent Full Time (40hrs per week) and offers a variety of environments & work seldom experienced elsewhere.
Your responsibilities:
The Exec Chef is responsible for providing great quality food & services that meet client expectations, the management, development and training of all back of house team members, participating in the menu development processes and ensuring that all tasks associated with food production, transport and logistics are performed with due regard for all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations. In addition to this there will be requirements to handle the fine dining requirements of formal dinners and functions.
This is an amazing opportunity working with some of the latest equipment available, newly designed operational food court offering 2 live cook stations and a variety of other food offerings. This is a unique concept to defence in New Zealand and a chance to make your mark in menu concept and design in collaboration with the operations manager and national food innovation manager. About you:
With a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar leadership position, you will have at least 4 years of experience working in a multi station dinning environment with a focus on freshly prepared and cooked to order options. Your previous leadership experience will see you leading large teams while managing multiple sites through efficient processes and effective organization.
