About the Team
The Safety, Environment and Regulation division (SER) upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.
Within SER we have Regulatory Operations Branch who are responsible for ensuring safer people, safer vehicles, safer speeds and safer roads to protect Transport’s customers and NSW communities. This is achieved by:
•Delivering and supporting risk-based, outcome focused road safety regulation and engage with industry and other stakeholders to enhance safety and compliance across the transport network.
•Delivering efficient and effective regulation to ensure only fit and competent drivers and operators and compliant vehicles can use the transport network.
•Collaborating with other government departments on a consistent, easy to navigate and digital approach to enhance customer experience.
•Continuously improving and transforming regulatory and enforcement programs by analysing data and trends to improve safety, customer experience and community outcomes.
The opportunity
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high level, confidential, executive support to the Executive Director, Regulatory Operations. This includes diary and meeting management and liaison with senior executive management within the organisation. The role will be part of a Business Services Team which is a new team that support the Executive Director and leadership team and facilitates responses to all incoming requests to the branch.
The successful candidate will need to support a busy Executive Director and will also get exposure to other business/administrative support responsibilities.
The role involves lots of stakeholder engagement particularly working closely with the offices of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary, the Directors within and other stakeholders across the division and department.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant who has excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities. The ideal candidate will be used to working under pressure and can present a calm demeanour and deliver on the tight deadlines.
You will be professional, resilient, reliable and flexible, with superior organisational skills and the ability to continually prioritise and re-prioritise as circumstances change.
You will have experience working for a senior executive in an organisation and used to managing their diary, ensuring that conflicting priorities are managed well, while also managing the emails ensuring that the Executive Director is alerted to matters which require her attention whilst ensuring that confidentiality is maintained.
Your stakeholder management and relationship skills will enable you to build and maintain relationships with all staff within the branch, in particular Directors across the branch and staff of the Office of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary so you can facilitate timely responses to a range of requests.
Importantly you need to demonstrate initiative so that you can follow through on matters where you know or where you can research what is required . Further, problem solving skills are essential as will be your digital and computer skills. Experience and/or understanding of government and parliamentary processes would be highly regarded but not essential.
This is an exciting role as you will have the opportunity to work with a high profile dynamic leader during a period of change and growth which will enable you, through your support to the Executive Director to contribute to the safety of NSW roads.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 5 ($85,103-$93,616) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
