About the RIB

The Racing Industry Act 2020 (‘the Act’) established a new governance structure for the New Zealand racing industry, effective 1 July 2021. Amongst other changes, the Act established the Racing Integrity Board (‘the Board’) as the new independent entity to be responsible for all integrity functions in the conduct of racing including compliance, adjudication and animal welfare.

The RIB is responsible for the application of the Rules of Racing for the codes within New Zealand. As our name suggests, it’s all about INTEGRITY – honesty, respect, trust, keeping promises and pride. The RIB is there to ensure the integrity of racing is maintained at the highest level, as this is critical for public and investment confidence in the racing industry.

We’re a team of 40 permanent people and around 100 casuals and / or contractors working across New Zealand. 

What you’ll be doing

As an Executive Assistant, there’s a lot to do supporting the Chief Executive and the Board Chair.  

The range of activities include:

  • Diary and calendar management;
  • Prepare and co-ordinate Board papers, meeting preparation, and minute taking;
  • Co-ordinate events and meetings;
  • Collate and summarise key information for presentations and meetings;
  • Compile Chief Executive correspondence;
  • Prepare briefing papers and presentations;
  • Maintain registers and ensure accurate record keeping, monitoring and accurate reporting;
  • General administration duties.

About this role

This role reports directly to the Chief Executive. 

This is a permanent full-time role with some flexibility regarding hours of work.

About you

The RIB is looking for an experienced Executive Assistant with:

  • 3 or more years of experience in an Executive Assistant role;
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, with challenging deadlines;
  • Creative and diverse thinking and shows initiative;
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to build relationships;
  • Clear and concise written work:
  • An exceptional eye for detail;
  • Works well under pressure and can think on their feet; 
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Ability to participates confidently in a team environment; and
  • Highly capable with computer technologies.
