About the RIB
The Racing Industry Act 2020 (‘the Act’) established a new governance structure for the New Zealand racing industry, effective 1 July 2021. Amongst other changes, the Act established the Racing Integrity Board (‘the Board’) as the new independent entity to be responsible for all integrity functions in the conduct of racing including compliance, adjudication and animal welfare.
The RIB is responsible for the application of the Rules of Racing for the codes within New Zealand. As our name suggests, it’s all about INTEGRITY – honesty, respect, trust, keeping promises and pride. The RIB is there to ensure the integrity of racing is maintained at the highest level, as this is critical for public and investment confidence in the racing industry.
We’re a team of 40 permanent people and around 100 casuals and / or contractors working across New Zealand.
