Want to take that step up in your career with an organisation dedicated to challenging inequality?

You know the qualities we are after – organized, flexible, people focused, IT savvy, a team player with great communication skills.  A great sense of humour will also go a long way when the pressure comes on, while a demonstrated commitment to the values and principles of our work is essential.

As the Events Assistant, you’d be responsible for the delivery of exceptional customer care to Oxfam’s potential and confirmed events participants, and to support in key areas within marketing, fundraising, and some logistics for Oxfam’s fundraising events.

In return, we offer a fun, supportive work environment and the opportunity to build a career in fundraising, marketing or events. With your work, you will contribute to ending poverty! The starting salary for this full-time role is $53,594 per annum (and possibly more depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate).

Applications closing date 9th February 2021, 5:00pm. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after this date.

Who are we?

At Oxfam we work alongside people impacted by disasters, and help them rebuild afterwards. We confront the causes that keep people poor, like extreme inequality, discrimination against women, climate change, and the eviction of people from their land. We work alongside people living in less wealthy countries to build better lives for themselves. For Oxfam staff this work gets us out of bed with the certainty that our work day is making a difference. At Oxfam Aotearoa we work alongside those in the Pacific Islands and South East Asia.

For more information about Oxfam, visit our website.

Note: Only candidates currently living in NZ with the right to work in New Zealand need apply. All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and may also be subject to additional screening checks, which can include criminal record and medical checks.

We are committed to: preventing any type of unwanted behaviour at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.  Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our Code of Conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that we recruit only those who share and demonstrate our values.

Oxfam Aotearoa is an equal opportunities employer and encourages diversity in the workplace.
