Event Manager/Participation Lead wanted for a maternity leave position

While the initial appointment will be fixed term for 12 months, PSC is committed to continuing the role in a fulltime, permanent capacity for the right candidate.
The Role
The maternity leave position is to provide cover for the Event Manager who is responsible for the development, design and hosting of all events. This role directly supported by the Sports Director.
The Event Manager is encouraged and supported to take a lead on all current events. They have the autonomy and responsibility to ensure alignment to the current strategic documents and the connection to our vision statement.
The current staffing for the Event Manager role is 0.50FTE, which is used flexibly to ensure the outcomes are achieved. This provides up to 0.50FTE to be used to establish a new Participation Lead role.
The new Participation Lead role shows the commitment of PSC to grow its capacity and connection to innovative, development focussed activations. This role will be supported to lead the organisation's development of new activations.
The weighting of this role will depend upon the successful candidates skills and availability.
The Person
The successful candidate will have a passion and dedication to the development and hosting of high quality events that promote individual skill development in primary aged children. They will be a vibrant, innovative thinker with a solution focussed outlook.

The Organisation
Primary Sports Canterbury is an established organisation like no other in New Zealand. PSC was established in 1900 by Canterbury Principals wanting centralised sporting opportunities for their students. Since that time the PSC has grown and developed their offerings but maintained a focus on primary aged students and the sporting opportunities they have access to.
The current strategic plan provides good direction for all operations and the vision is our guiding statement; Meaningful connection to physical activity for all.
Currently there are more than 25 individual events and offerings hosted by the organisation. These range from single day, single sport competitions to weekly sport operating over multiple weeks, for example, the Canterbury Swimming Championships, Rugby Fun Day, Winter Weekly Sport and Tough Kid event. While the current calendar is full there are plenty of opportunities to add to and further develop what is offered.
