Metal Concepts - ESTIMATOR

We’re Auckland’s premier metal design and fabrication business and we’re hiring for 2022!
We incorporate the latest technology in material processing to offer design and fabrication services to the wider Construction and Architectural markets.

Metal Concepts is looking for expressions of interest for the position of Estimator with 3+ years of experience in a similar role.

As an Estimator, your main responsibility will be to determine the total cost of project by gathering project scope documents, proposals, specifications and produce tender responses to our construction clients. Working with the Estimating and Sales team, you will calculate labour, material and time requirements in order to be able to compute the overall cost of a project.

Responsibilities include:

• Working as an effective member of the team towards achieving the team goals and always demonstrating an appropriate work ethic.
• Managing workloads within appropriate timescales, making use of available tools and resources.
• Effective written and oral communication both with internal and external customers.
• Providing accurate estimations of costs and timelines.
• And most importantly always taking appropriate levels of ownership for tasks and delivery.

Skills and experience required:

• Sub-contractor background in metalwork although experience in similar trades considered.
• Experience within commercial construction projects preferred.
• Previous experience as an estimator in the construction and/or architectural field.
• Strong IT Skills – Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, Excel) and Project Management Software (Wrike, MS Project).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Comfortably and meticulously work unsupervised.
