Location: England UK. We offer a mixture of office, remote and hybrid working at Gousto. Although hybrid, the role will require travel to either our sites or London office on a weekly basis.

We have an incredibly exciting opportunity in the form of an ER Manager here at Gousto. This is a pivotal role that will take the lead in providing strategic direction for ER across the entirety of Gousto. As the ER Manager you will also build and lead a team of trusted ER Advisors to develop a positive employee relations climate, with short term tactical and medium term strategies.

Reporting into the Head of People, the role will work across the People team in order to support and build capability within front line leaders as well as our own People team. As the ER Manager you will identify trends through data and provide subject matter expertise on employee relations.

To be successful in this role you will be comfortable managing a small but growing team, keen to support the set up of ER processes and strategic plans (we are not the finished article!). Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and love getting underneath the skin of our sites!

Core Responsibilities:

• Build a team of trusted, capable and confident ER advisors aligned to the business and by site
• Develop credible relationships with key stakeholders to ensure timely and robust ER activity
• Using data across Gousto provide insight as to current health of ER, identify improvement areas and feedback to stakeholders to agree clear plans
• Work closely with People Services and People Partners to build manager toolkits; letter template and guidance for managing ER cases such as grievances, absence, disciplinaries
• Ensure the effective case management of live ER cases, provide practical and commercial advice on complex cases
• Build and develop a culture of ER ownership through our line managers and front line managers.
• Provide leadership on effective change management when embedding new policies, processes or supporting wider change programmes
• Provides guidance and insight to develop our holistic Employee Forum framework

Requirements

Who you are:

• Expert knowledge of Employee Relations & Employment Law best practices
• Able to convey complex information in a clear, engaging and pragmatic manner
• Previous experience of leading and managing a small team would be beneficial although not essential (we are happy to consider someone that has mentored or lead informally)
• Experienced in a fast paced, commercial business, ideally with Trade Union / Employee Forum exposure (FMCG, Manufacturing or D2C would be beneficial although not essential)
• Pragmatic problem solver, with a track record of extensive ER case management
• Able to work and lead others through ambiguity whilst making high quality decisions that are commercially sound
• Proficient in using HR systems and working with data to identify insights that drive action
