We are currently looking to recruit an Equipment Qualification Lead who will be responsible for leading the interfacing and coordinating of all activities associated with cross cutting Equipment Qualification issues. In particular, if successful you will be associated with qualification to accidental conditions.
 
As an Equipment Qualification Lead, your main responsibility be to ensure that the scope is optimised and delivered within schedule and budget. This includes consideration of technical, cost, schedule issues. You will require planning and coordinating is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

What you’ll be doing…

As an Equipment Qualification Lead, your main accountabilities will include, but will not limited to:

•    Management of a matrix team of other disciplines forming the project delivery team. Interface with the Contract Project Managers (who manage the specific contracts with equipment suppliers). 
•    Interaction with EDF in France, and with SPM/PMs within the programme, resources in TMA (Technical Directorate) and/or with HPC Site Construction Team. This may involve the coordination of design (in France or UK), procurement; commercial and construction resources.
•    The area managed by the EQ Senior Project Manager may involve facilitation between multiple Programmes and contracts and numerous external stakeholders. 
•    Appropriate technical knowledge related to the relevant subject matter to be able to effectively coordinate inputs and outputs and present summary reports and requests for governance approval. 

 

Who you are…

You will be characterised by the following knowledge, qualifications and experience:

•    Providing leadership and coordinating project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management, and troubleshooting for engineering projects
•    Membership of professional engineering institution and Chartered Engineer (or equivalent).
•    Accountability for project performance and that results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost
•    Developing departmental plans, including business, production and/or organisational priorities
•    Ability to Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions or develop solutions where precedent may not exist
•    Project Management tools (PRINCE2 / APM)
•    Beneficial knowledge in relation to Mechanical components (Valves and Actuators)
•    Nuclear Energy sector exposure or similar regulated environment.
•    MS Office tools
•    Teamcenter (Siemens Documentation platform)
•    CEMAR / SAP ERP

 
Demonstrate success in managing / developing:

•    Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery
•    Procurement and management of complex contracts
•    Controlling of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools,
•    Closing out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations
•    Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders
•    Ability to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation
•    Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools
•    Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes
•    Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills
•    Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks
•    Strong numerical and analytical skills
•    Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either
•    Understanding the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlled
•    Works independently; receives minimal guidance
