We're looking for a dynamic and collaborative Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to be based ether at our Hangar located at Gatwick Airport or our Training Campus in Crawley.
This position will further complement the existing EHS team with consideration of the growth of Boeing activities in the UK, and especially at our Gatwick facility. The purpose of the role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to enable us to achieve a high standard of EH&S performance at the Hangar and other locations in the region (principally Crawley and Burgess Hill)
The purpose of this role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to Enable Boeing to achieve a high standard of EHS performance.
Prepares compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
Acts as primary site collaborate with regulatory agencies. Prepares and submits permit applications.
Performs program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent re occurrence of incidents.
Evaluates workplace hazards. Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance.
Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations.
Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.
The role will cover the Hangar at Gatwick Airport as well as having oversight for Boeing’s offices in Ireland. This will require minimum travel requirement to Ireland twice a month.
Responsibilities will include day-to-day EHS support for risk assessment, EHS procedures, communications, EHS inspections, induction training, EHS observations, Emergency procedures, accident investigations, and environmental compliance and sustainability.
This role will work closely with the rest of the regional EHS team.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
The candidate will have a qualification in Environmental, Health, and Safety, preferably to degree/diploma level and ideally have experience in an (advanced) manufacturing environment, ideally holding a health and safety within this environment.
Key skills will include influencing people, communication, problem solving, pragmatism and flexibility.
Good IT skills are also important.
