Our Federal Government clients are currently looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to work on a transformative Maximo implementation project. The Sr. Business Analyst will be supporting the development of the implementation strategy implement Maximo for their sites across the nation, as well as developing the project charter, and rolling out the schedule for the implementations.
Tasks:
Gather, elicit, and analyze business and functional requirements; understand, interpret and document scope, objectives, benefits, risks and other details of project relevance;
Provide proposals, based on the Maximo system, to satisfy the needs of the institutions run bythe department;
Conduct workshops with business users to identify gaps, document current state processes that include inefficiencies metrics (cost, time, etc.); and process benchmarking when appropriate;
Document future state business processes, Functional Specifications for applications and interfaces with IFS, JBCS, CIS, VISION, and Reports, and for the KPI dashboards;
Work with ITS PMO to make trade-offs on scope/timeline and cost;
Work with Solution Architects for options analysis and solutions;
Perform business case analysis and documentation;
Provide guidance on SMS legacy data mapping and migration to Maximo system;
Work with the vendors and architects to ensure the solution will meet the business needs and requirements if necessary;
Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for process integration across lines of business or business capabilities;
Work closely with business and technical architects to ensure there is an alignment between data, technology, and business strategies & capabilities;
Make presentations to senior management, as well as organize and conduct meetings;
Work with business teams, architects and the IT PMO to balance the immediate delivery needs with the long-term strategic objectives of the department;
Create the necessary project documentation for management;
Coordinate and manage business analysis activities, as necessary;
Develop and Deliver training materials and user training sessions;
Provide functional and application support to developers and business users, during and after the implementation phases;
Provide on-site rollout and production support as part of new implementations; and
There may be a potential need to travel to various sites as well as provide off-hours support to meet project training and production support needs for shift workers.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or related, relevant discipline;
5+ years experience as a lead business and/or process analyst within enterprise asset management and/or maintenance operations domains;
3+ years experience with EAM or Maximo implementations;
Major IT implementation experience and understanding how systems are affected by business process change;
Experience in dealing with complex business problems, identifying business/functional user requirements and recommending how to best support them through processes and applications;
Experience in process analysis, design, and modelling in a complex environment; and
Ability to have influence without authority, and a strong ability to sell recommendations and solutions by stating advantages and value in strategic business terms.
Desired Requirements
Expert knowledge of MS Office tools (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio);
Familiarity and understanding of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) analysis and performance measurement;
High-level skills in both written and verbal communications, as well as the ability to manage and influence stakeholders;
Experience with SQL queries in Oracle DB is an asset;
PBA, CBAP and/or related certifications are an asset; and
Bilingual (English, French) is an asset.
