***The base salary banding for this role is £81,000 - £121,000 in London and £70,000 - £105,000 outside of London, plus the benefits listed below.***

About the role

You'll be joining a small, dynamic team of strategy oriented architects, passionate about the overall technology strategy and architecture of the group. We collaborate closely with other members of the architecture practice, business and engineering leaders around the organisation to deliver strategic papers, shape roadmaps, provide thought leadership and encourage adoption of modern technologies.

In your role you'll have an opportunity to engage with senior leaders, advise them on how to utilise technology to achieve desired outcomes and articulate optionality that balances different drivers for change. Our team backlog frequently changes to reflect the exciting environment we operate within and focus our energy on most value adding architecture activities.

Consequently, our work varies; some examples include articulating a technology strategy at the group level, shaping divisional and value stream roadmaps, creating proposals for adoption of new technologies, working with partners to deliver value-adding insight, defining options to address architectural debt, creating domain specific whitepapers, and many more.

About you

• You're a forward‐looking and enthusiastic Enterprise Architect who can combine technology thought leadership, excellent communication skills and passion for change to shape and communicate architecture strategies effectively
• You have a breadth of knowledge in a variety of modern and emerging technologies coupled with excellence in effective communication, including at CxO level
• Experience of architecting enterprise scale platforms and solutions is desirable, together with the hunger and curiosity to keep your skills and knowledge up to date as the financial industry and modern technologies continue to evolve.

• Strategy

You're a strategic problem solver who brings technological and value opportunity insights ahead of the business curve. You're passionate about applying modern and emerging technologies and conceptual designs to articulate, promote and enhance the architecture strategy for the organisation. You understand and shape architecture direction in the context of technological and industry trends and apply that insight to the organisation.

• Enterprise Architecture

You have a background in enterprise architecture or technology consulting roles with emphasis on shaping capability, domain or organisational strategies. Ideally you'll have had experience in engineering and solution architecture during your career and be able to relate architectural concepts to implementations as well as business outcomes. This breadth of skills and experiences is important to you and you're able to communicate equally well with business and technological communities at all levels.

• Technology

Your passion is for applying modern technologies to transforming established and large organisational systems to next generation platforms. You have some depth of knowledge and experience in applying modern web‐scale technologies, such as those used to implement API, Data, AI, Cloud in commercial organisations for the purposes of delivering value.
