As SRE Manager, you’ll use your engineering expertise to lead a multi skilled cloud engineering team, dedicated proactively to build reliability into our infrastructure. You’ll be a true engineering leader with a deep understanding of Cloud Native Application development.

You’ll nurture a team of talented engineers that are the corner stone of platform engineering, building self-healing, scalable, operational infrastructure for cloud-based applications. You’ll have real practical experience in developing products using microservices, container technologies, and container management systems such as Kubernetes.

As well as being technically skilled, you’ll be able to drive progress and work collaboratively with product owners and the business to influence outcomes. You’ll be responsible for recruiting, retaining and motivating your team to deliver end-to-end technical solutions for products.

• Embed and extend code quality tools, security testing and chaos engineering practices part of our automated delivery pipelines
• Encourage and facilitate communities of practice to ensure we share best practice across the engineering teams
• Work with the Agile and Team Coaches to advocate and embed Agile/lean delivery methodologies
• Manage platform performance engineering resources that continually assess our stability, capacity and resilience
• Manage the people and financial data for your team, meeting targets, providing timely and accurate reporting, and creating opportunities for value realisation in line with our internal processes

More about you:

• You’ll be an engineering leader with a deep understanding of Cloud Native Application development with hands-on experience of software engineering and DevOps.
• Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and has hands on experience of the languages, tools, infrastructure using microservices, container technologies, and container management systems such as Kubernetes etc.
• Lead from the front demonstrating the benefits of SRE through real-world scenarios and examples.
• Lead cloud engineers who are responsible for the reliability of our cloud platforms by delivering software to improve product availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Optimise our cloud engineering practices, which will result in an uplift of reusability and a reduction of re-work with increased delivery efficiency and maturity.
• Implementing infrastructure as code, monitoring as code, everything as code
• Be self-driven and constantly striving to improve your teams, focusing on continuous development
• Attention to detail, able to foresee potential pitfalls before they arise 
• Meet SLOs, removing toil and increasing developer productivity
• Ability to manage Capex and Opex lines in the P&L
