The opportunity

As the Engineering Applications Specialist, you will be responsible for the monitoring of Engineering, IT and Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications including Bentley ProjectWise (& ALIM system). You will also provide end user support; innovative end-to-end tools and solutions for engineering design users to ensure that both staff and clients obtain timely and effective CAD services. Ensure that Sydney Trains, TfNSW, Digital Engineering & AMD technical standards and practices are met.

• Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements
• Provide technical and professional support to various engineering application owners, to support the effective operation of all ESI Engineering & CAD Design applications including ALIM.
• Collaborate with engineering application owners in identifying new and emerging business needs and develop appropriate solutions that meet users

About you

Previous experience in a similar role where you’ve been responsible for improving and enhancing engineering drafting and design applications services.

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related discipline, and/or relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of the phases of development life cycles for CAD systems.
• Knowledge of the principles of project management, preferably as applied to IT or CAD related projects.
• Proven proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably in PowerShell, VB, VBA, XML and HTML.
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with all levels of the organization.
• Extensive experience in one or more engineering design disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience in system design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of CAD MicroStation and other Bentley products such as ProjectWise, preferably gained in a large decentralised environment.

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is RC6 ($127,559-$141,442) plus superannuation and leave loading.
