Job Description

About us

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do – and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW – you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

About the Team

The Safety, Environment and Regulation(SER) division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.

The Regulatory Operations branch within SER has the Regulatory Systems and Technology Team where the Enforcement Adjudication Unit is positioned. This unit collaborates with partners to adjudicate road-related offences, including-NSW Police, Revenue NSW and Local Councils. It is responsible for leading adjudication of certain camera-detected offences and heavy vehicle fatigue-related offences, issuing infringement notices and court attendance notices and preparing briefs of evidence to support prosecutions.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for an Enforcement Assessment Officer who assesses and processes breach reports relating to alleged offences of Road Transport Law, including National Heavy Vehicle Law, and associated legislation administered by the Transport Agency and creates Brief of Evidence packs for defended Transport court matters.

Please note that this role may (at TfNSW’s discretion) transfer to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) in about mid 2022.

This is a great role where you will be required to be a team player but also able to work autonomously.
