One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is looking for an Employment Advisor to join our Employment Plus Services Team. Within The Salvation Army, the Employment Advisor role is known as an Employment Development Coordinator (EDC)

The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus service offers tailored support to help people become job-ready. Our aim is to help job seekers to get a job and stay in work. Operating at the heart of communities in more than 650 locations across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, we empower individuals to overcome obstacles they face professionally and personally, and to fulfil their life ambitions.

As an Employment Advisor you will help individuals in identifying, developing, securing and sustaining appropriate work opportunities within the local community.

As the post holder you will be responsible for managing your own caseload to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to all. In addition to this you will manage, develop and maintain close working partnerships with Homelessness Services, Community Services and Corps, to support those in the community experiencing unemployment.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering high quality services to people suffering from unemployment, knowledge of local services and labour market.
• Proven ability to be self-directing, planning and prioritising own work load
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
