Job Description

Do you want to help build the tools and processes that enable AWS’ most strategic customers and partners to hire cloud IT talent? AWS Training & Certification is focused on enabling job seekers to get the in-demand cloud skills that can launch them into successful cloud careers. We are looking for an innovative, self-driven, business-savvy Program Manager to engage with AWS’ Commercial and Public Sector customers worldwide. Your job is to identify the cloud skills employers need to accelerate digital transformation, create the mechanisms that provide customer feedback into AWS’ Education Program development, and connect qualified candidates to cloud jobs. You literally get to change the lives of people around the world.

The Employer Engagement Program Manager (Employer PM) is a newly-created role, responsible for identifying, engaging and managing multi-national employers who actively recruit and hire cloud-skilled job seekers. The Employer PM works across the AWS Training & Certification builder team as well as with the field organization to represent AWS Education Programs to prospective employers. Success requires securing commitments from these employers to actively engage in recruiting and hiring practices, creating and managing senior-level HR and business stakeholder relationships and building the feedback channels to ensure employer needs are being met by AWS’ Education Programs. To do this, the successful candidate will need to be a strong owner, leading and connecting a wide range of resources in and across AWS that directly contribute to employment outcomes for job seekers and employers.

This role requires international business experience and comfort engaging at the Director-level and above with internal and external stakeholders. Success means being inventive and fearless in a new team while balancing operational excellence and program management outcomes. It requires deep engagement with AWS’ core customer segments – in particular regulated industries – to ensure that AWS Education Programs cloud curricula and skills supports align with evolving customer requirements. The Employer PM will also have an opportunity to strategically impact how AWS engages holistically in addressing our customer’s varied hiring, training and ongoing readiness needs.

The right candidate is an experienced self-starter who can lead through innovation, move decisively during ambiguity, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. He/she will be required to dive deep and develop best practices across a range of external stakeholders and internal functional teams to connect job seekers to AWS Education Programs.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Identify employer business objectives, performance outcomes, and develop strategies to connect job seekers from AWS Education Programs with employer cloud career employment
· Gather requirements from appropriate business owners, write clear and detailed functional specifications, prioritize functionality, and drive scoping as needed
· Be the voice of the employer, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of content development efforts and help the team iterate and improve on its content offering
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key external employer stakeholders (e.g. HR leaders, corporate recruiters, sourcers and other human capital stakeholders) and internal AWS teams (e.g. academic programs, product, marketing, content, membership, product development, recruiting and international program managers)
· Manage employer program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines
· Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people who are passionate about helping create cloud employment and STEM careers
