About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Maintenance Services team.

This is an opportunity to progress into a more technical role, providing support to our Test Van crew as needed; where you will be working with sophisticated testing equipment to test and fault find within our network.

Duties will include the following:

• Cable commissioning and fault finding
• Primary and limited secondary testing
• High voltage switching
• General Electrical Fitter duties
• Participating in our on-call faults roster and working unscheduled overtime when required

Skills and experience include the following:

• An uncompromising commitment to workplace safety
• A minimum of three years post trade experience – this role requires some depth of experience
• Experience in substation equipment installations and the operation, maintenance and repair of generic 11kV and 33kV switchgear
• Experience in ring main units and distribution transformers
• Cable testing and switching experience would be an advantage
• Extensive technical knowledge and current electrical registration
• Ability and experience to work independently and unsupervised
