In the Professional Products Division, our mission is to support hairdressers and develop the hair industry sustainably, while benefiting all. We’re the founding division for the L’Oréal group, having history more than 110 years ago.

You will

• Drive the overall site EHS agenda by developing the site health & safety strategy, culture & policies alongside taking information & legislation from both the L’Oréal group and external bodies. Transform these into engaging material that colleagues on site can relate to.

• Ensure Safety is a core value on site and we remain legally compliant by challenging the way we do things and constantly looking for improvements to ensure we are doing the right thing by everyone on site when it comes to EHS.

• Foster a culture of improvement by leading a strong safety community through the co-ordination of the EHS Ambassador and First Aid teams on site. Contribute towards the site wellbeing strategy.

• Bring the L’Oréal Sustainability agenda to life on site by developing and promoting the site sustainability strategy.

• Be responsible for overseeing any EHS related inspections & audits that happen on site and feeding results back to the relevant parties.

• Co-ordinate and work alongside our out-sourced Facilities & Services Contractors by ensuring they meet the required standards and within budget for the services undertaken on site and regularly reviewing their performance.

• Manage the different projects on site relating to EHS from small daily jobs to bigger projects working alongside the site team.

• Play a key role in the Site Management and UKI EHS teams.

• Ensure that EHS & Operational Training is delivered to a high standard on site and is kept up to date through management of the site Training Team Leader.

You have

• Similar experience in an EHS related role and a passion for Health, Safety & Environment.

• Relevant professional experience including a minimum requirement of a NEBOSH general certificate level in occupational health & safety or equivalent. Knowledge of ISO standards for safety and environment desirable. 

• Experience working with regulatory bodies and local authorities on site EHS compliance.

• Strong auditing & risk assessment experience, mechanical, electrical & environmental.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, preferable both UKI & International level.

• Entrepreneurial attitude to problem solving, find new ways to engage staff in safety.

• Strong presentation skills and capable of conveying complex information in a simple and engaging way to all levels.

• Strong networker with ability to leverage relationships to achieve results.
