We are a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health, helping providers across the whole health sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore outcomes for all who use these services in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are looking for a first-rate editorial and publications advisor to help the publications manager keep up with the growing demand for reports, publications and resources for Aotearoa New Zealand's health workers and consumers.

If you have a strong background in editing, writing and/or publications management this newly created role is for you.

All public-facing publications and resources at the Commission must meet the Government's accessibility requirements and many need to be available in alternate formats for vision and hearing-impaired people. There is also a growing demand for translation services, particularly for consumer-facing work programmes.

This role will co-manage relationships with our external suppliers, including editors, designers, printers, translation services and providers of alternate formats.

You will provide advice to programme teams at the start of the publications process and provide support to manage the production of the Commission's publications and collateral, including reports, guides, newsletters and resources, both online and in print format. You will ensure all publications meet the Commission's publication standards and brand guidelines.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent editing, proofreading and writing skills, be a plain English champion, and have a strong customer focus and proven planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work well under pressure and juggle multiple demands.

The Commission has a strong focus on Maori health advancement and reducing inequity, and the successful candidate will contribute to these goals.
