About the service:
Waikato Hospital’s ED is the major regional referral and trauma centre for the Midland region with a catchment population of over 800,000 people. We see approximately 76,000 patients per year with a broad case-mix of presentations from paediatrics to geriatrics, medicine to trauma – there is no aspect of emergency medical care we do not provide.
About the role:
We have a Receptionist position available in our busy Emergency Department. The role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the department.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
• Previous reception, administrative and/or customer service experience
• Ability to work in a high stress environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage a variety of tasks
• Ability to work as part of a team
Other essential attributes include self-motivation, initiative and flexibility in an ever changing fast paced environment. Experience working in a medical environment or knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable.
Please note, in this role you will be required to work rostered rotating shifts covering a 24 hour period 7 days a week as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
