Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic Ecological Restoration Operations Manager to manage, coordinate, and expand our ecological restoration projects in Christchurch and further afield in the South Island.  This is a newly created position which offers the scope for an experienced Manager to lead and develop our rapidly expanding ecological restoration teams, within an award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy.  

Experience in the management of people, the ability to manage ecological restoration teams to meet internal and external performance criteria, internal and external reporting, and project management are key elements of the role.  In-depth knowledge and experience of pest plant control and/or pest animal control, as well as Health and Safety practices and procedures in the field is important.

The role will require effective written and oral communication skills, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, for project reporting, preparation of proposals/tenders, preparation of ecological restoration and implementation plans, and performance and financial reporting.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, together with the opportunity to work in a leading NZ ecological consultancy, committed to providing outstanding ecological services to sustain and improve our environments.

The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced restoration managers, project supervisors, ecological restoration ecologists and other specialists, from around NZ.  They will require a proven track record in project management, including managing staff and effective client liaison, mentoring staff in ecological restoration, reporting, time and financial management, and the preparation of proposals and tenders. A key aspect of the role is to increase the capability and capacity of restoration operations in the South Island, including winning more work and strengthening client relationships
