 A progressive ecological consultancy, committed to the care and enhancement of our natural environment. High quality ecological information, advice and technical services are provided to a wide range of clients.

 Wildlands is seeking fulltime permanent Restoration Operations Team Members and Team Leaders based at our Christchurch Office.

These roles are to undertake ecological restoration work including pest plant control, pest animal control and revegetation.

Although these field roles are based within the Christchurch region, our staff regularly work away on restoration projects throughout the country, and applicants who have the ability to travel and stay away for a week at a time are preferred.

 Job Requirements:

It is essential that you have a willingness to contribute and work in a team, are physically fit, and have a passion for working outdoors in all sorts of weather. The work will also require staff to use agrichemicals (herbicides), animal toxins (poisons) and traps on a regular basis.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience we are looking for:

• A genuine interest in working in the outdoors and achieving restoration goals.
• A good work ethic, efficient and H&S conscious.
• Pest plant control
• Pest animal control and monitoring.
• Indigenous plant and pest plant identification
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• GPS use and other hand held devices (e.g. phone, camera).
• A good level of fitness.
• A clean Full NZ drivers licence (manual).

We are very interested in hearing from any keen applicants that may be interested in this area of work, but who may not have much training or experience. We can provide external and internal training and mentoring, including NZQA training.

Preferred applicants will hold CURRENT relevant qualifications and experience. These include Growsafe (Standard or Registered Chemical Applicator), First Aid, Chainsaw, 4WD, Controlled Substance Licence (CSL), ATV and SiteSafe.
