Job Description
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Pharmacy, the Drug Access Facilitator facilitates, coordinates and evaluates the available programs and resources to access medication reimbursement assistance for MGH patients, with a primary focus on oncology patients. This role will be a central resource for physicians, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists. The incumbent will play a key role in advising patients, families, caregivers and healthcare professionals regarding medication access and reimbursement and will actively engage with government, community and private agencies that provide medication financial assistance.

EDUCATION
- A registered regulated healthcare professional with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant healthcare field, required.
- Registration in good standing with relevant professional college/association, required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years recent and related drug access facilitator/navigator professional experience preferred, in a healthcare setting.
- Recent experience working with speciality or hospital clinic teams, speciality pharmacy teams, and/or hospital pharmacy teams required.
- Demonstrated experience working in electronic health record environments (CPOE, eMAR, electronic documentation, or closed loop med administration etc.
- Experience liaising and working with third party payers (insurance companies, ODB) and managing online pharmacy billing, an asset.
- Expert knowledge of Ontario drug reimbursement mechanisms (pharmacy-related experience).
- Strong knowledge of common hospital medications, including oncology medications.
- Ability to demonstrate MGH core service standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and independent problem solving skills.
- Ability to develop effective partnerships and collaborate with interprofessional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively and manage competing priorities.
- Strong familiarity with electronic productivity applications (i.e. MS Office, etc) is preferred.
- Good work and attendance record required.
