About the role

We have an opportunity for a Driving Instructor to be part of our P&C Police Driver Training, Operational Safety & Skills Command team. The Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching and managing assessments for the Silver Certification Driving Course and other programs delivered by the Police Driver Training Unit.

The People & Capability Command enables best practice policing and capability development through the delivery of education and training services to NSWPF. This role is located within the Police Driver Training Unit in Goulburn. The unit and this role provides training to students of the NSWPF Academy and operational police with fundamental and specialist courses. Courses and Skills at Police Driver Training can include, but not limited to, standard vehicles, high performance vehicles, motor cycles, trail bikes, all terain and four wheel drive vehicles. As People and Capability Command provide services statewide, some travel may be required as part of fulfilling this role. Successful applicants are required to pass a medical assessment.

The role contributes to course development, delivery and assessment of NSWPF driving related courses. Using evidence and research, mastering new skills, and maintaining currency and relevancy are key for success in the role. Using a recent example from your own experience, describe how you have developed new skills and applied them to improve workplace or learning outcomes while also contributing to a collaborative future focused workplace culture.

Target Question 2:

Provide an example of how you have worked within a diversly skilled team. How did you manage and capitalise on the differing experiences, expectations and ways of working with each other to ensure the best outcomes were achieved and a positive workplace culture maintained?
