As a new NSW Government statutory authority, Sydney Metro has been tasked with developing and delivering metro railways, and managing their operations. Sydney Metro also leads the development of vibrant station precincts to meet customer and community needs, transforming the way Sydney travels and helping shape the future of Australia’s largest city.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Document Controller to join Sydney Metro in supporting our exciting projects. This role will be responsible in providing specified project document, standards, systems and process control of the quality control process. This role will implement and monitor compliance with document control standards supporting a portfolio of projects of varying complexity, with multiple interdependencies and stakeholders.
Key accountabilities include (but not limited to):
Define standards for document controls, processes and systems for the project, ensuring compliance with project and document control standards.
Perform review and assurance activities to ensure that document standards are adhered to, and that noncompliance is identified promptly and actioned.
Implement document controls on new projects including requirements gathering, systems / process design and configuration, document controls plan and go-live support of effective document controls.
Receive, record, distribute and file all technical documentation, principally incoming and outgoing contractual documents such as services briefs, drawings, reports, schedules, registers, specifications, transmittals, presentations and their associated forms of transmission.
Maintain quality control of the recording of all design reviews and iterations of all technical documents ensuring project parties are working from the correct revision.
Coordinate with and support the project, quality, technical and administration teams for timely, effectively, document management.
Ensure consistency with Corporate Records System requirements, liaising with external contractors, clients and suppliers, ensuring submissions are consistent with and comply with project and management systems.
Manage an electronic document management scheme of directory and file structures for storage, retrieval, submissions and project searches

About you
Substantial experience with electronic records and document management systems; asset and/or engineering management systems and project management systems.
Demonstrated ability to source, analyse, interpret and contribute to project, construction and contract documentation.
Experience in best-practice record keeping and document management in a construction or maintenance environment.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 7A ($106,086) – Grade 7E ($118,816) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
