To be accountable and responsible for the overall operational effectiveness within distribution and underwriting across NZ. This includes development and implementation of processes, training and project delivery to drive efficiencies across systems and functions within the business. This role will ensure that NZ distribution function manages risk appropriately providing subject matter expertise and operational compliance. This role requires enterprise thinking, strong leadership and operational delivery to be successful.

The opportunity

Reporting to the NZ General Manager, be a part of the Senior Leadership team in a National, newly created role to create impact across the distribution and underwriting business. With strategic oversight, you will lead the review and development of operational effectiveness. This includes:

  • Development and implementation of processes, training and project delivery to drive efficiencies across systems and functions within the business.
  • Manage risk providing subject matter expertise and operational compliance.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory, social and economic changes that may impact on underwriting.
  • People leadership, creating an environment that fosters high levels of employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.
  • Getting people & teams on board the journey for change in processes and systems

This role requires enterprise thinking, strong leadership and operational delivery to be successful.

You will be:

  • An experienced leader, with a strong focus on coaching and goal delivery
  • Highly organised, self-starter with desire to drive operational efficiency
  • Experienced with implementing processes, systems or tools requiring engagement and collaboration across multiple teams/functions
  • An apt problem solver, with ability to identify complex issues and review related information to develop and implement solutions
  • Knowledgeable broadly of management & governance principles, control frameworks & regulatory requirements.
