The Property Group is a trusted partner and enabler working in partnership with our project teams and clients throughout the property lifecycle. It is responsible for providing end-to-end specialised property expertise which assists in the development, delivery and management of smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places. The Property Group provides project management, property acquisition, asset management and divestment services, and is a ‘go to’ knowledge bank for land information and customer property interface for all of the TfNSW Customer Divisions.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for a commercially astute Director of Valuations and Acquisitions who will be responsible for managing, guiding and providing oversight and leadership to our teams that undertake negotiations for the acquisition of property in line with the identified business needs and requirements of Transport for NSW projects and programs. The role includes providing oversight and governance of the property acquisition process in accordance with the TfNSW guidelines and the governing legislation relating to the acquisition of land on just terms.
An essential part of the role is to ensure that land acquisition activities are delivered in accordance with both the Assurance and Governance requirements of TfNSW and that appropriate probity and governance practices are employed, along with a customer focused service level.

You are a tertiary qualified executive leader with a track record of experience and success in managing consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints, and interests. You will be financially competent and have the ability to drive continuous performance improvement and innovation in the business.
As an expert influencer, you have superior stakeholder management skills coupled with significant experience in the development and implementation of strategic business improvement planning and performance initiatives and sound knowledge of trends and practices and their practical application. You operate in a highly collaborative way, offering business improvement and valuable solutions, helping leaders to solve complex problems.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate resilience, determination, be adaptable and work to overcome any unexpected challenges that arise in large and ever-changing environments such as ours.
