The Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving group within Microsoft whose vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering cloud capacity differentiated at scale. The organization is responsible for strategy, delivery and operations of all data centers globally powering Microsoft cloud properties.  CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Windows Azure branded services.

 

Cloud Sourcing and Supply Chain (CSSC) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of all IT hardware for the data centers which includes all servers, storage, and networking devices.  Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a passionate, high energy supply chain professional to help build create sustainable advantage through supply chain. 

 

As our supply chain grows in complexity, the responsibilities of our suppliers, and subsequent sourcing organization continues to grow.  This role will lead a team building expertise in, driving consistency, and leading initiatives across Sourcing teams in the area of, but not limited to, Security, Sustainability, Risk Management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Material Cost Reduction, and Digital Transformation.  This role will report to the VP of Sourcing and be part of staff that includes Sourcing and Supply Management leaders.  

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for CSSC supply chain initiatives and new business models
  • Drive long range business planning and organizational alignment for priorities, resources, objectives, and metrics to maximize operational efficiency
  • Develop program management office to drive business enablement across strategic initiatives and special programs (internal and external to CSSC)
  • Prepare strategic content for high profile forums with top executives / senior leaders across the organization to shape and drive strategic agenda
  • Partner with the Business Manager to incorporate strategies into the organization’s rhythm of the business (ROB)

  • Strong skills in financial business case analysis and cost modeling
  • Excellent communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of leading a team that provides strategic direction in supply chain initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations or Business is required or equivalent years of experience 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Supply chain, Sourcing, Planning, Operations or equivalent in tech industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA degree preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance
  • Extensive experience in leading projects with cross functional teams
