About the team
Our Asset and Workplace Services team supports the Transport Cluster by managing its properties, providing travel and fleet services, and delivering workplace requirements and concierge services across Sydney and regional NSW.
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Director Facilities Management to join us as a key member of the Asset and Workplace Services team.
In this critical role, you will be accountable for leading and managing the delivery of facilities management services and workplace operations (concierge and people services relating to workplace experience) across our portfolio of administrative properties including Transport for NSW offices and depots, driving optimisation and leading best practice across the asset lifecycle.
Reporting to the Director Asset and Workplace Services, you will provide design input into new sites whilst in the project inception / design phase. In addition, you will be responsible for all HSE and emergency functions within the Facilities Management remit and ensure an optimal level of workplace experience that delivers value for money and meets community standards.
The Director Facilities Management provides a unique opportunity to play a pivotal and highly strategic role across the Transport cluster and contribute to the creation of a legacy for our state.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading the Facilities Management team to deliver high-quality and value for money, customer centric services
Providing strategic leadership and development, implementation and management of an asset lifecycle plan for fixed assets to ensure optimal performance
Developing disaster recovery plans for Transport for NSW administrative properties and assets, working closely with stakeholders to coordinate recovery efforts
Continuing to develop and grow the Facilities Management service offering to our stakeholders and customers
Maintaining and sustaining collaborative working relationships with outsourced providers (e.g. concierge, security), whilst working in close partnership with stakeholders and suppliers to develop preventative maintenance plans and improve future service delivery outcomes
Working collaboratively with the Contracts Management team, providing critical inputs to business needs assessment and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement and sourcing exercises, to ensure contracts meet service delivery needs
Developing, managing, and optimising the facilities management budget, ensuring expenditure aligns with priorities outlined in asset planning and delivers the best outcomes for TfNSW
Providing strategic direction and oversight to the development and implementation of a cluster-wide program that incorporates sustainability into all aspects of building management and meets TfNSW sustainability objectives and targets, developing frameworks, systems, and processes for continuous improvement of facilities management, achieving cost savings and improved workplace experience

About you
You will be a Facilities Management specialist with demonstrated experience at the executive level
You will be accomplished providing strategic leadership in property asset management across a large, complex, and diverse portfolio of assets, ideally within or delivering to customers in highly regulated / legislated environments
You will have extensive experience leading multi-skilled teams delivering comprehensive asset management and facilities management services
You are a commercially astute, strategic, and collaborative leader, who is highly skilled at engaging and influencing at senior executive level across a broad stakeholder base, including private and public sector participants
You will be highly adept at managing strategic commercial relationships across the contract management lifecycle, including the Contract Management team and outsourced property asset management service providers
You will bring proven capability in maintaining a high level of service and performance in facilities management operations while fostering a future-focused view, setting the agenda, frameworks and processes that align to business and customer expectations and deliver sustainable, long-term value
You will possess extensive knowledge in Facilities Management, including the recent building industry legislation and compliance requirements
You will be regarded as a thought leader, bringing leading best practice and a track record of continuous improvement and transformational change in the delivery of facilities and workplace support services, while inspiring teams and developing capability uplift to meet evolving customer needs
You will hold tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management (or a relevant discipline), or have equivalent experience in facilities management at a senior level
Salary and Benefits
