Director, Extractives
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) is seeking to appoint a Director, Extractives to lead the strategic development of Victoria's extractive resources, lead a team and work program to ensure a reliable and affordable supply of extractive resources continues to be available to support Victoria's growth.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Earth Resources Policy and Programs, this role will see you lead extractive initiatives, develops policy directions and advice that shape planning, legislative and regulatory reforms and facilitates strategic projects through the extractives supply chain from quarry to market. In addition, the role is responsible for engaging and building partnerships with industry, government planning, transport and infrastructure agencies and community stakeholders to drive a vibrant, productive and responsible extractives sector that promotes investor and community confidence.
As a proven people leader, you will demonstrate experience in providing authoritative advice and support to executive management on managing the strategic development of natural resources, including translating strategic priorities into plans and initiatives. You will have a successful track record of developing, delivering and managing programs. Outstanding communication abilities including developing effective working relationships and cross collaboration. You are highly regarded for your ability to negotiate, influence and build consensus at senior levels on complex resource development issues.
