About this role

Reporting into the Senior Product Owner, the Trading Manager is responsible for the governance, reporting and forecasting of Digital Sales performance for a given category.  

This includes measurement of the end to end sales performance of digital sales journeys from the first customer touchpoint on Digital Marketing through to the customer receiving and using their product or service.

Working with Digital Sales Squads, to feed into strategic plans to improve the performance of these critical sales journeys whilst establishing an online shop fit for the future growth of the channel.

Understanding the commercial priority of multiple products and propositions to co-ordinate and prioritise accordingly to drive the best commercial return from the website. 

Subject matter expert for all related performance metrics as well as providing the context of channel, Market and business performance.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Commercial

• Supporting the Senior Product Owner in planning the annual, quarterly, monthly sales volume and value budgets and KPIs for specific sales category(s)  in line with wider Consumer Commercial targets.

• Supporting the Finance Business Partner with Quarterly (QXP) and Yearly (Feb Forecast) planning of OPEX spend for third party agencies and tools 

• Delivering Sales performance insight and reporting including but not limited to market context, competitor context and other channel context for the tribe

• Being the key tribe interface into commercial teams to understand and influence offer laydown and plans

Strategic

• Supporting the creation of strategic & functional roadmap items to drive shop performance of specific sales categories and be able to clearly articulate their benefit.

• Supporting business casing to secure OPEX to drive tactical performance from 3rd party solution providers.

• Work cross functionally with multiple digital teams to prioritise and support the delivery of new cross sell journey elements and the introduction of new product categories to increase basket value. 

Sales Operations

• Stakeholder management. Ownership and communication of operational performance issues affecting sales performance.

• Support testing of end-to-end activation rate performance. Understanding the mix of automated and manual orders to drive an efficient channel.

• Key interface into backend operational teams to ensure efficient processing of digital orders. Digital activity management such as Live Chat, Basket Abandonment and Affiliate Program Management.

• Live Chat management. Setting and reporting against targets, managing agent resource, weekly reviews of performance & setting incentives according to business priorities

• Sales or marketing experience

• eCommerce experience

• Telco experience

• Strategic and financial modelling experience

• Experience working in a complex business environment
