About this role

The role holder will be the central contact for our legal and regulatory obligations relating to data in digital applications and platforms. It is expected to guide and advise, working closely with legal colleagues and keep BT's digital data processes compliant. Also, as part of role's responsibility is to work and deliver more customer consent initiatives in the digital space to drive increased personalised marketing.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Key compliance person for digital product squads helping to bring compliance by design into digital applications.

Evaluate, review and embed digital data policies, risk and control processes and monitor these.

Management of the cookie consent platform for BT Consumer websites. Includes regular scanning of websites and managing non-compliance into digital operational teams for action.

Provide data governance digital consultancy across BT Consumer. 

Manages the request backlog

Maintains GDPR compliance for digital applications

Acts as the interface between the Consumer digital, marketing and legal colleagues

Contribute to Privacy Impact Assessments for high-risk projects

Investigates and manages opportunities for compliant consent collection across Consumer website and digital customer touchpoints

You'll have the following skills & experience

Strong understanding of website tracking technologies (cookies, local storage, pixels etc)

Experience in governance or compliance

Understanding of digital marketing techniques (e.g. adtech)

Understanding of data protection laws – GDPR, PECR, DP Act

Experience of managing ideas from concept to delivery
