POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Food Service Department at the Hospital provides food services to inpatients in Acute Care, Continuing Care and Outpatients. This department serves over 200,000 patient meals each year and operates seven days per week. In addition, the Food Service department operates the retail Atrium Café, which serves fresh daily specials, soups, salads and other goodies to both staff, visitors and patients.
Under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the Dietary Aide will perform a variety of duties within a food service operation that is related to the preparation and serving of food, and the washing and sanitizing of equipment, dishes and utensils. The Dietary Aide performs a variety of duties within the Food Service department including but not limited to:
HOURS:
The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work. Any candidate entering the facility to attend an interview will be required to provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status. To be considered fully immunized, individuals need to have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days earlier than the date they are arriving to an interview or to begin work at STEGH.
