Desktop Product Manager - 129361

The Role:

AMD is searching for a Desktop Product Manager to define and drive a product, software, and platform roadmap and execution to ensure that AMD products are built to match the evolving needs of the market. This person will be responsible for a set of Desktop CPU products within AMD's Client portfolio.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have experience in product management/program development with an emphasis in desktop or notebook PCs. The candidate should have strong capabilities to collaborate with marketing, product management, engineering, and business development teams to achieve outstanding business results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of assigned CPU products with responsibility for driving execution from planning through high volume production and end of life
• Product management leadership to define product requirements and provide execution clarity based on the customer and driven business requirements
• Collaborate with engineering execution teams to ensure product requirements, goals, and objectives are met and exceeded
• Development and execution of new product introductions with technical, supply, marketing, and sales functions.
• Contribute to high-level strategic roadmap planning decisions with product, business development, engineering, and executive teams
• Engage with key ecosystem partners and alliance organizations to deliver the critical software and solution components to support the business growth goals
• Develop product business cases in collaboration with go-to-market and sales teams that meet client business growth and share objectives

Key Skills:

• Ability to guide product definition using credible insights developed by interacting with end customers, strategic partners and by following usage, market, and economic trends
• Ability to tradeoff multiple constraints and chart a clear and differentiated path for AMD’s products
• Strong communication skills to address multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Possess the technical ability to dialogue at a feature and IP level with internal hardware and software architects as well as external customer experts.
• Current understanding of industry trends of hardware and software ecosystems, end user behavior, usage models across gaming, creator, commercial, and workstation segments
• Ability to convert highly technical value propositions into a compelling case
• 10+ Years in product development with relevant business and/or product management experience from a top-20 silicon vendor or PC manufacturer

Academic Credentials:

• BS and/or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from a top university or college, MBA preferred
