Job Description

Design Consultant
Do you have a passion for design, interior spaces, and beautiful products?
We are looking for a creative, organised, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Design Consultant in our beautiful state-of-the-art Design Studio located in Rosedale.

About us
We are a New Zealand family-owned and operated company that has provided premium bathroomware for New Zealand architects, homeowners, developers, builders, and plumbers for over 65 years. We import beautiful, high-quality, plumbing, and bathroom products from all over Europe. Each of the brands that we represent has impressive credentials – from artisanal craftsmanship using some of the most indulgent materials available, to precision engineering and performance. And of course, they all carry the unmistakable sophistication of style and design that Europe is renowned for.

The Role
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic self-starter that is passionate about delivering a high level of customer service but also committed to learning the required knowledge to support our products and services. Reporting to the branch manager, you must be able to provide exceptional customer service and design ideas, working closely with customers to help guide product selection on renovations and building projects.

This role includes weekend work.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is accurate, with an eye for detail
  • Has good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Has great time management
  • Is detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Has great design vision and can paint the picture for their clients

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Discuss design ideas and provide advice to customers
  • Analyse customers’ requirements based on a set of plans
  • Assist customers with selecting products that will make their bathroom functional, and beautiful by determining space requirements.
  • Guide customers to make colour and material choices that will enhance their space
  • Suggest products based on the client's budget
  • Develop trusted relationships with each client to ensure Franklins are the first-choice supplier.
  • Grow the sales portfolio from retail customers and outbound proactive contact with a willingness to follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with industry knowledge and relevant product ranges.
  • Assist with maintaining high presentation standards in the Showroom.
  • Preparation of quotations, ordering of stock, and coordination of deliveries
  • Regular follow up with customers during the selection, quotation, and delivery phase of their purchase
  • Day to day maintenance of relationships with key customers such as local builders and plumbers
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and some admin work.

Our industry is very specialised, and we recognise this. If your design, sales, customer service, or retail experience does not extend to the plumbing industry, but you have the passion and drive to learn and succeed, we invite you to apply.  Full Training will be provided
