About this role

We are strengthening our digital capabilities and looking for new talent as we expand our design team. Uncompromising in delivering quality solutions to our customers at pace, we require an experienced Design Architect with a focus on 5G Private Network solutions to bring their ambition, drive, and proven track record to a developing portfolio of digital properties in mobile environments. 

You’ll be responsible for complex customer solutions around 5G Private Networks, working with stakeholders in our international customers across BT Global. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and deploying Private 5G/LTE solutions. This is a senior position, and you will regularly interact with various teams including product managers, engineering, sales and research. You will lead architectural design for key initiatives, operate transparently and with autonomy, seek opportunities and ensuring delivery excellence. You'll have the following responsibilities

Lead, create, drive and win complex customer solutions using 5G Private Network propositions and transformation initiatives

Guide and influence customers, build successful relationships and provide thought leadership around Private Networks with (multi-discipline) technology and management stakeholders

Lead the development of infrastructure strategy, architecture, designs, products, best practices and input into service delivery standards and procedures as part of the portfolio

Drive and support the design, development, and effort estimation of products, solutions and/or services for customer projects. You will be expected to personally deliver across multiple projects and trials, and engage with customers to grow opportunities

Gain and maintain insights and expertise around relevant emerging technologies and provide guidance for the business to direct and develop new solutions.

Work with our (pre)sales, products and engineering teams on solutions, designs, and opportunities as well as with our key external partners and providers

Potentially lead a virtual team across technology domains accountable for complex design and development

Develop team members by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and coaching them and leading by example

You'll have the following skills & experience

Experience in an Architect role or equivalent with proven ability to engage, lead and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, product development, other SMEs and customers.

Proven experience in designing and implementing 5G/4G/LTE network solutions around Core, RAN and MEC for indoor/outdoor use cases

Strong IP networking and security fundamentals with knowledge and understanding of adjoining technology areas like LAN/Wi-Fi, (SD)WAN and Security

Technical knowledge and understanding of 5G/4G/LTE end-to-end technology with good product and market knowledge, and awareness of radio spectrum availability

Preferably combined with skills in one or more areas of IOT, networking, cloud, SDN/NFV virtualization or micro services

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and leadership skills, coordinating with customers and other 3rd parties

Ability to collaborate and engage with IT professionals / stakeholders and act as trusted advisor to customers based on their needs

Can relate complex technical solutions to a business and operational audience

Ability to assimilate how new technologies will disrupt the market and translate into technology roadmaps.
