Job Description

The Noah’s Ark Day Nursery provides a caring, learning environment for 34 children aged from 3 months to 4 years. As a part of the Management team, of the setting you will provide and contribute to high quality delivery of care and education. Be able to think of creative planning ideas and activities. To ensure that every child’s safety, learning, well-being and happiness is central to everything we do. Leading the main room of the 2 year's to 5 year olds. Support with the daily running of the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Have clear leadership skills, who can lead a team of up to 8 staff on a daily basis. We are seeking a creative team player with lots of initiative and motivation. You will plan and provide structured and well thought through activities within the EYFS guidelines for a group of key children aged 2-5 years old. Providing creative and appropriate educational opportunities that are both planned and spontaneous for all children within an inclusive environment. These will always be carried out in a safe considerate and responsible manner in accordance with the settings and Salvation Army’s Policies and procedures. Working with other professional and multi-agencies and local schools to support the children and in turn the families to the highest level. Providing the best positive outcomes for all children and their families.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • At least two years’ experience of working in an Early Years / childcare setting, or at least twoyears other suitable managerial experience
  • Ability to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge around Safeguarding principles and procedures
  • Able to demonstrate flair and creativity
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
