The Demand Manager will play a key role within the function, and will be:

  • Accountable to the business to coordinate and schedule all approved change to be delivered across TalkTalk.
  • Support the estimation and allocation of demand within the delivery factories providing information to the Portfolio Directors and Project / Programme Managers.
  • Work closely with the PMO team and Heads of Programme and Portfolio to assist the business in effectively prioritising requests from the annual planning capex cycle to ad-hoc requests through the year by providing timely and commercially appropriate insight.
  • Proactively share knowledge of technology process discipline, risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of resources.
  • Develop and maintain cross functional technology demand roadmap aligned to operating priorities, pre-emptively identify hotspots and under-capacity on quarterly and ongoing basis and propose potential resolution options.
  • Initiate and execute cross functional communication and improvement activities to ensure maximum alignment of the technology with business priorities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional business, change function, technical and 3rd party stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate demand governance and controls, gates, checklists, documentation, reports and management information
  • Adhere to the Change Framework and ISO:9001 requirements where relevant.
  • Identify and pro-actively manage risks, issues and dependencies, escalating as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the demand is accepted into delivery teams
  • Record and improve PMO processes and ways of working; identify areas for improvement, and own and deliver that improvement where appropriate

Be great to also have

-Industry knowledge in one of the following industries: Telecoms, IT, Media, Technology

-Knowledge of productivity measures and methods

-Software delivery methodology knowledge – i.e. Agile, Iterative Waterfall and Hybrid

-Project Management skills (e.g. Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner)

-Working knowledge of IT outsourcing models
