About this role
Dynamic Network Operations is accountable for the operation of BT’s exchange power & Environment estate – the network infrastructure - upon which all customer service depends. A critical component of this is the ownership of service availability across all of BT Group’s core networks and network services. This role is accountable for the operational control and service availability of BT’s service platforms supporting all key customers throughout the UK and protecting BT’s assets from potential threats 24x7x365. This role also involves managing BTs exchange Flood, Fire and Gas (FFG) monitoring and availability which has a direct impact on BT groups insurance and H&S.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Accountable for achieving the operational performance goals, including ‘start to notify’ (S2N), ‘start to restore’ (S2R), service/platform availability and the immediate mitigation and prevention of power outages across BT’s Critical infrastructure.
Accountable for the operational framework, processes, tooling, documentation and training material required to operationally manage the performance of BT’s power & environment estate Identifying, creating, owning and driving service improvement plans.
Deliver and execute a plan which bridges current and emerging skill gaps, including to address the future demand e.g. as a result of driving automation of transactional processes, identify skills gaps for the changing role within the operational teams, and create and execute plans to address these gaps.
Manage paradoxical problems on improving the quality of service against reducing overall cost.
Solve problems relating to cost transformation of delivery and service obsession – e.g. improving service through designs, ensuring that work is actioned in the right place, and improving communication with all internal customers in the value chain.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Educated at degree level
Desirable but not essential – Experience working with power networks
Experience working in an operational environment
Excellent communications with internal senior stakeholders and external customers.
Knowledge of the incident management process’
Experience with continuous improvement including OSS deliveries
Experienced and recognised operational leader.
Expert knowledge of the communications industry.
Understanding of BT’s network and infrastructure internal and external
