About IT at TfNSW

Regional, Delivery & Safety (RDS) IT support three Transport Divisions; Safety, Environment and Regulation, Infrastructure & Place and Regional and Outer Metropolitan. Our purpose is to enable our clients to innovate, scale and achieve outcomes through faster and more effective delivery of business applications and IT services.
The opportunity
We have a new opportunity for a Database Administrator/Developer, Temporary full time role upto 2 years within Regional Delivery & Safety (RDS). This role will be reporting to the Development Manager and working closely with our experienced development team, As a database developer and administrator you will be responsible for the development, integration, maintenance, testing and updating the database. The role comes with full autonomy to use your sound database knowledge, as well as providing the opportunity to be instrumental, via your enhancement of our database infrastructure. You will also be expected to provide suggestions and recommendations for designs and design improvements for the product set.
Your role will include
Maintain and develop new functionalities on Database
Provide end-to-end technical
support and problem resolution
Monitor and maintain system health and security
Tracking the progress of a project, resolving issues, and providing updates to stakeholders.
Ensuring the continuous delivery of business information systems solutions that align with strategic goals.
Understand and ensure adherence to the legal and privacy requirements for an IT system.
Oversee data management and retrieval systems.
Create and maintain workflow process documentation
Advocate and provide assurance to the Leadership team in regard to quality, reliability and performance

About you
To be successful in the role you will
Provide guidance and support to Application Developers
Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
Write and deploy SQL patches
Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades
Experience with cloud technology(Azure cloud)
Exposure to cloud ETL tools - ADF/Logic apps
Azure analysis services experience and working with powerBI is plus
Process work accurately and in a timely manner
Pay attention to detail at all times
Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
Collate, prepare and present statistical information for internal and external us
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 8 ($120,423.00 - $134,872.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
