Job Description

Our Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Scientist. In this role you will be responsible using analytical methods to develop decision support tools and products to measure wellbeing outcomes, enhance resource allocation and improve investment effectiveness of Kāinga Ora operations.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • A post-graduate degree or relevant practical experience in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Science or Quantitative Social Science.
  • A minimum 2 years relevant experience in a Data Science team with extensive programming experience with R, Python, Java or similar data science programming language(s) using Cloud (Azure preferred) services.
  • Demonstrated experience in machine learning development through all phases of the project lifecycle, from understanding a business problem and requirements gathering to exploratory data analysis, model development, validation and deployment in production, monitoring and production support.
  • Experience interacting with and influencing subject matter experts and business stakeholders. In particular, strong ability to interpret Data Science outputs for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
