Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced Data Science Team Lead for a role in the Calgary, AB., area. The successful Candidate will oversee the data science and data analytics team managing the entire process of maximizing the Clients platform through the design of production systems using data and research by constructing your team’s findings into narratives and partnering with key decision makers across the company. Are you a results oriented and focused individual with top-notch analytical and leadership skills who knows how to ask the appropriate questions, interpret and analyze key data ? You will interpret analysis findings, provide recommendations on resources, training and best practices. Our Client is based in the Calgary, Alberta area but this role is available for fully remote work / work from home permissions for eligible candidates.

Requirements

MUST HAVE:

• 8 + years proven hands-on working experience in senior analytics or similar field
• Proven working success in leading a data science or data engineering team
• Proficient experience utilizing data programming languages such as Python, R, etc. in production
• Solid working knowledge and powerful ability with SQL
• Strong and verifiable experience using data visualization and analytical tools. Experience with data querying languages, and statistical or mathematical software
• Willingness and ability to demonstrate and disseminate best practices
• Solid ability to work well with people and to lead and inspire them to do their best work every day
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical people
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective interactions with all levels of Stakeholders
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent

NICE TO HAVE:

• Knowledge and experience in building APIs is preferred
• Exposure with Flask, Django or Falcon is an asset
• Knowledge and experience with consumer facing technology is a definite plus
