About this role

Due to growth Openreach have several Data Professional vacancies available which can be based in any of our following sites as a part of our new smart working programme: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds or London.

You’ll love working with data, be capable of designing data tables that can be accessed by a wide range of capabilities – getting information into the right hands. You will be passionate about creating a quality product – performant code, constraints to assure data quality and a high regard for standards. 

You’ll be part of an enterprise data and analytics team working on projects across a number of products and programmes that exist within FND (Fibre Network Delivery) but keeping core development principles in all spaces. You will have the ability to understand system process and apply this learning to the creation of data tables. You will have the capability to collect data from data warehouses as well as non-strategic stores, untangle complex data across multiple operational systems used in FND to create scheduled daily outputs that will be consumed across the business. 

You’ll also work with emerging technologies on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Being an early adopter within the business to realise the potential and capability of cloud-based technologies. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Develop new products (or iterate existing structures) to keep relevancy in line with business development and need. 

• A keen eye for maintenance – working to support maintained performance and quality of existing builds. 

• Work within (and add to) FND’s strategy, standards and governance

• Responsible for investigating problems when they arise, communicating effectively with stakeholders and working with supplier teams where required to find resolution 

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Track record and background working within ETL processes 

• Evidenced competence in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL or background in Cloud based technologies with GCP being desirable

• Capability to automate, schedule and create dependencies within procedures

• Ability to translate business requirements into robust, workable solutions
