About the Team 

As part of the Strategy, Portfolio and Investment branch of Sydney Trains, the Reporting, Analytics and Insights (RA&I) team is passionate about turning data into information and actionable insights to help the business make better decisions and drive improved customer experience.

With a strong focus on making the right choices and ensuring value delivery, we partner with the business to support decision making by providing easy access to efficient, trusted and governed reporting, analytics and insights, whilst also ensuring data is used in a governed, secure way, with a focus on accurate quality data.

The opportunity

We have an opportunity currently available for a Data Operations Manager to join the Reporting, Analytics and Insights team.

Leading our Data Operations team, this role will see you lead the team in driving the development of data management practices across Sydney Trains with a focus on data integration, automation and provisioning.

You will work with a number of teams across Sydney Trains helping them to understand the role of data and analytics and how this can benefit data-driven decisions. 

As a Data Operations Manager you will:

Lead the team to manage the data analytics pipelines, working with other teams to promote new solutions and features to production and providing automated solutions.

Work with the Governance Lead to ensure data quality, define correct data ownership and owners are monitoring the use of data for specific users across Sydney Trains

Support the development of a DataOps team that value analytics that work, measuring the performance of data analytics by the insights they deliver.

About you

You are a highly experienced, flexible and driven senior leader capable of building an agile, resilient team and driving productive, collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.

You have extensive experience in data governance, data modelling, data ETL, data management and understand the importance of how insights and analytics can deliver high value to business customers. 

You bring a strategic mindset and a proven ability to navigate complex environments and execute strategies to deliver successful outcomes.
