The Sector Performance Group assesses the performance of the public sector. We gain insight into the types of challenges that public entities face, make recommendations for improvement, and identify areas of good practice that other entities can learn from. The Data and Analytics team, which is part of the Sector Performance Group, is responsible for the development, advice, and delivery of data and analytic capability to the Office.
This is an exciting time to join the Data and Analytics team on a 24 month fixed term. This is because we're investing in a new data platform and analytical environment. We're on an exciting journey as we look to work with our data and extract meaningful insights to support decision-making throughout the Office.
The Data and Knowledge Architect is a senior technical leader in the specialist Data and Analytics team.
As the Data and Knowledge Architect, you'll develop and implement a fit-for purpose data governance framework for the Office and architect the Office's knowledge landscape for delivery with the Office's Data and Analytics Platform.
You'll be responsible for leading and delivering business projects and programmes that meet the Office's data strategy direction and business requirements. You'll ensure that significant data projects are led and co-ordinated with a common and consistent framework and that sound data and knowledge governance practices are used. You'll work closely with governance groups, project sponsors, and others to ensure the successful delivery of the Office's data projects and uplift the Office's data governance maturity and embed good data governance practice in the organisation.
You'll also maintain a good understanding of developments in the field of data and analytics. In particular, you'll understand its use in the public sector and other audit organisations. You'll identify opportunities for the Office to develop capability in these areas.
To be successful you'll have extensive experience in:
A post-graduate qualification (preferably PhD) in a relevant field is a must.
Significant autonomy and responsibility will be key features of your previous experience, and you'll need to be comfortable making decisions and engaging with senior stakeholders throughout the public sector.
You'll also need to demonstrate an understanding of the Office's work and commitment to transparency, accountability, and good practice, including appropriate attention to documentation and quality assurance.
