The Cyber Optimisation Professional identifies, supports and delivers processes to effectively, expeditiously and confidently enable the Protect BT Mission. Operationally focused in the delivery of technical capability and knowledge to exploit data and capability to BT’s security advantage as well as strategic support to the ‘Supported’ Operational domains.

This role is based in our Birmingham hub so you'll be surrounded by fellow protectors.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Supports the operationalisation of the PBT domain strategies and identifies areas for continual improvement
• Follows new/improved Protection / Detection / Response for identified cyber threats
• Supports and develops a portion of all associated playbooks and processes within the cyber security functions
• Assists with the definition of new ways of working within cyber security function to maximise effectiveness
• Champions good security practice and supporting the identification of areas of operational improvement
• Supports effective security incident management and investigation as necessary
• Provides input and supports the development of  collaborative relationships across BT Security developing the support and knowledge for areas of specialism
• Supports delivery of operational effectiveness in support of PBT mission and matrixed strategies

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Good understanding of Security policy, standards, procedures, and practice 
• Ability to share experiences with customers in support of security sales efforts
• Appropriate technical programming / coding / data analytical skills
• Good understanding of IT Technical controls
• Knowledge of either Six Sigma, Agile, MSP, Scrum or the ITIL framework
• Ability to explain technical and complex issues to lay person
• Curiosity and foresight to anticipate future security business needs
• Analysis and understanding of business security data to aid effective decision making
• Project management and presentation skills
